Sandustry Logic Guide: Sensors, Logic Gates & Automation Circuits
CIRCUITS & LOGIC GATESAs your Sandustry factory scales into late-game Void and Fluxite production, dumb gravity chutes and constant belts inevitably suffer from bottlenecks and overflow jams. Logic and Signals allow you to build smart factories with sensors, automated doors, AND gates, and emergency relief shutoffs.
Item & Fluid Detectors
Placed along belts or inside fluid tanks. Emits an ON signal (1) when particles or liquids pass through or accumulate above threshold.
AND, OR & NOT Inverters
Process incoming sensor signals. An AND Gate only fires when both ingredients are present, preventing unbalanced recipe waste.
Automated Doors & Belt Brakes
Receive output signals to physically block material flow, throttle conveyor speed, or dump overflow into secondary burn pits.
⚡ 3 Must-Build Factory Logic Blueprints
The Automatic Shaker Anti-Clog Shutoff
Mount an Item Sensor right at the Shaker upper-deck slag exit. Connect it to a NOT Gate wired into the primary sand intake belt. If slag starts backing up, the intake conveyor immediately pauses, completely eliminating the Slag Jam!
Emergency Fluid Overflow Dump Gate
Place a Fluid Sensor at basin height +4. Wire it directly to an Automated Drain Door leading to an underground drainage cavern. When water surges, the door drops open to prevent diagonal flooding of your machinery.
Amethelis + Redsand AND Gate Collision Sequencer
When synthesizing Voidbloom, place sensors on both the Amethelis and Redsand feeder chutes. Connect both into an AND Gate attached to release doors so materials drop in perfect synchrony, ensuring 100% collision efficiency with zero leftover clutter.
💡 Pro Signal Wiring Tips
- ✓Low Power Cost: Logic signal wires are cheap to run, making them an efficient optimization layer for every factory.
- ✓Color-Coded Channels: Use Red, Blue, and Green signal wire variants to cross signals across tight spaces without interference.
