How do I export my own blueprint as a shareable string?

What does tileable mean for a Sandustry blueprint?

A tileable blueprint is a module designed so you can paste multiple copies side-by-side and they connect automatically. Most Shaker rows, water farms and logic circuits are tileable; vertical modules like the Kinetic Press Burner usually are not.

Can I edit a blueprint after importing it?

Yes. A blueprint is a starting point, not a contract. After placing an imported module you can move it, widen it, redirect outputs, or attach it to a different storage area. Most builders adjust the final 10% of an imported design to fit their factory.

Why does my blueprint import fail?

Common causes: the string got truncated when copied, the blueprint was exported from a different Sandustry version with buildings you have not unlocked yet, or the string has invisible whitespace characters. Re-copy the full string and make sure your research tree unlocks every building the blueprint needs.

How big can a Sandustry blueprint be?

Blueprints can store entire factory sections, but most experienced builders prefer smaller focused modules — one Shaker unit, one Kinetic Press section, one water tower — and tile them. Smaller modules are easier to fit into existing factories and easier to debug.

How Sandustry Blueprints Work

STEP 01 · SELECT

Press C + Drag

Use the marquee selection tool (default C) to drag a rectangle around your factory section. Press Ctrl+C to copy.

STEP 02 · SAVE

Q → Blueprints → Save

Open Building (Q), switch to the Blueprints tab, find your selection under Clipboard, then click Save as Blueprint. Name it clearly.

STEP 03 · SHARE

Export → String → Import

Click Export on a saved blueprint to get a shareable Blueprint String. Friends paste it via Q → Blueprints → Import.
